James
Thompson died of stomach cancer about 1999.
-------------------------------------------------
Dear Paschal High friends,
I am honored to have this privilege to speak to you about
Jim Thompson. We were wonderfully married for 28 years.
Through the years, I heard many high school tales. He
loved his home town, his school and so many of you. As
you gather to reminisce and rekindle old friendships and
discover new ones, I am writing and enclosing a few letters
to let you know what an incredible man James Mark Thompson
was. Our marriage was full of fun and laughter; Thompson,
as so many of you called him, was the name that stuck
with him. He loved a good joke, family, dear friends,
his Lord Jesus Christ, fishing and fishing buddies.
He was a great father. Blake, now married to Amanda,
lives in Santa Monica, CA. Amber, married to Geoff, lives
in Amarillo. They were the light of his life and he especially
cherished each moment as they grew to adulthood and he
was able to watch them fly successfully through college
and into the working world.
He fought a very difficult battle with cancer for 2 ½
years. He fought for every minute of life that he could
continue to have with me and with Blake and Amber. Two
of the enclosed letter contain the thoughts of dear friends
who spoke at his memorial service and give you an insight
into his character. A huge thank you for this web page
honoring your classmates. And a huge thank you to DeDe
Stuntz Long for letting me know about this website. Enjoy
your time together.
My children and I would love to hear Thompson stories
from you. Sincerely,
Dinah Thompson Collinsworth
