I really know the meaning of serendipity after this last month. I didn’t attend Paschal, but I would have, had I continued living in Ft. Worth. I went to school with Drew for our first seven years. We were in the same afternoon kindergarten session, and Drew’s wonderful sense of humor was evident even then.

Our mothers were room mothers for many years. Through elementary school at Lilly B. Clayton, we shared the same books, the same teachers and an insane love of life; we even went steady for three years…..that’s a LONG time for elementary school buddies. We continued our friendship when we entered Mclean Junior High.

I moved away. We continued writing but somewhere in life we lost contact. About a month ago I had a dream about Drew. It was one of those where you know that something is wrong. I searched for any information that I could find. I finally enlisted Google and found “In Memoriam”. Drew still had that wonderful smile, that zest for life and I’m sure that if he were here, he would have been living it up at the 40th.
